Gini,
I saw the report and immediately thought of you. Such a tragedy.
I just got back from the hospital. Trying to catch some sleep before Pat and I head out for a mini shop hop.
Very pretty quilt Wendy.
Wendy :I have finished the blocks
Very sweet Wendy. It's going to make a lively quilt.
Gini, I read about the skiers and thought of you, I was glad it wasn't you but so sorry for the 3 mens families.
Oh Gini, how sad! I heard about this on the late night news but had no idea it was connected to someone I knew. Prayers going up for the families involved. Such a terrible tragedy. A devastating sequence of events.
Gini
I heard about the skiers being caught in the avalanche. My first thought was ... where was Gini skiing. So glad you were safe.

Quilting is finally alive and well at my house. What a difference a room re-set makes. Marketing people know what they are talking about when they say a re-set rejuvenates your sales. Between that and re-setting my sleep pattern I feel like a new person. The result is that I have finished piecing the 35 Churn Dash blocks that I separated from my UFO project. Mailman is to deliver my parcel with the sashing fabric this afternoon. Border will be another chapter. I also finished piecing the 30s Dresden Plate blocks and sashing segments. This morning I started cutting my Snowman wall hanging and unlike Kris's they can make all the snowballs they want.. They're nowhere as cute as hers so won't have to fear.
Granny Agnes, if I ask really nicely, will you show us the finished Dresden work when you complete it?
I found some Dresden plates a couple of months ago that my late grandmother had started over 3 years ago and want to finish her work. I'm looking for ideas. ;)

Rachel ,Jenny Doan fron Missouri Star Quilt CO. has a free tutorial on U-tube on how to do Dresden Plates that is really easy and beautiful when finished . She also has 2 different classes on Crafsty ,that are really good I think all the classes are on sale now ,She has a more detailed lesson on the class .Barbara
MaxNTopeka: I'm trying to work on a quilt. Working on my Cabin in the Woods quilt. My little log cabins are okey dokey...but the woods are being a pain in the wazoo!! If I want them to curve to the right, they wander off to the left. If I want them to go straight, they get the hiccups and zigzag. It's a personal challenge...I can do this! I can! If all else fails I can always set fire to cabins, clear cut the forest, bulldoze the pond, dam up the river and pretend it never happened. (Note to self: Don't make the stupid trees so small you can't press them with the iron...or get a smaller iron!) ...Back to the forest. Max

ROFLMAO, Max!!
Gini - Glad you & yours are safe! My DB lives in the Spokane area and when I hear stuff like that it makes me glad he's into Golf instead of skiing.
MaxnTopeka, I'd like to cheer you on with your Cabin in the Woods quilt. Remember the children's book about the little train? Just tell youself, I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!!! You can do it! About the ironing. I'm working on Sylvia's Bridal Quilt with 6 inch blocks. Everything is small. I got one of the little mini-irons and it is great for little small pieces. I find that blocks don't get stretched so much as they do with a big iron. Try it and see if that doesn't help. Remember, I think I can, I think I can.
