I have been watching the news and see that your Governor has declared a state of emergency. i hope that all of you and yours are safe and that the waters don't over run you. Having lived through hurricane Hugo back in 89, I know what damage water can do - so my prayers go out to all of you - when you can let us know that you are safe of it you need anything please let us know!
The news from Virginia is not looking good - already they are forecasting they are going to get a foot of rain - that on top of what they have gotten.
I hope Nana, Deanna, Happy, Harolyn and Squeakquilter are okay - I know I have missed some names and I do apologize but I am praying for all of you and yours to be okay.
They said this storm is not moving but stationary and that is bad - so if and when you can check in and let us know if there is anything we can do to help - Big Prayer for all of you!
These folks are in my prayers and on my prayer chain. God bless all those people who need his protective hand.

Thank you so much for thinking about us. My home is not in a flood plain but we do get some run off at times so far everything is fine. I don't think that Deanna or Alice live in flood prone areas. The worst hit was the coastline.

Nana - I am so glad to hear from you ! I saw it on the news today and it does not look good - this weather these last few years has just been horrendous but I am glad to see you here.
Thea,
I didn't even know this was happening. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
Nana, I'm glad you're out of harm's way.
we are only about a 1/4 mile from the river but we are above the river so we won't be in danger with that. The river is full and running fast. We had rain for over 48 hours. I didn't think it was ever going to stop. We did get water standing in the backyard from street gutter run off. Our driveway is downhill and steep so when it pours hard, the water from the street will travel down our driveway. I think the coastline is what's really going to get it. The pictures this morning from the coastline didn't look good.
Thanks for checking in Deanna.
scary watching news with rains on east coast. Hope everyone survives it. Keep safe folks
I'm a Fabri-holic and I have many material witnesses to prove it
