Patricia Faye:my mistake Dresden block
I love the blue fabric Patricia, doesn't look like a mistake to me. Everyone's blocks are really great, amazing to see the different colors and patterns in these blocks.
Continuing my holiday theme, here's my July blocks. I tried a yoyo option for the center of the modern block because the center kept coming out more oval than round.

Thanks Kris, and LOL at calling dibs on the quilts

"Fabricologist Resource Center" ...now doesn't that sound more impressive than "fabric stash" ?
NICE!!!
Judy EE, I love your July blocks, especially the yoyo idea, very nice!

Gena B: Thanks Dara, I will post as soon as I figure out how to. I am from West Virginia also. Just outside of Charleston in Lincoln Co. so glad I found this group.

Gena, Did you get hit by the storm on the 29th? We sure did. No electric for 8 days and we are still luckier than those that are still doing without.

Terrific Blocks JudyEE. The yoyo looks great.
I haven't started yet. I just watched the video a few minutes ago. I'm a bit leery of all those fabric layers though. I wasn't fond of the extra bulk when we did the string blocks so I think I may have to find a different method. I must say that the way she did her blocks, she did get really nice finished edges. Decisions, Decisions.... :o)
Judy EE, very pretty and nice touch with the yo-yo.

Thanks Dara Beth.
I also didn't like the three layers of fabric on the modern dresden so I cut out the two bottom layers after I machined appliqued the double layers onto the background fabric. I think it will be much easier to quilt.
Bonita: Judy EE, very pretty and nice touch with the yo-yo.
Thanks Bonita, it really does look a lot better than my egg shaped circle.

Very nice Judy E. I like the yoyo centre.

Wow. This totally makes me want to do a holiday quilt. I've been collecting Benartex's "Jingle All the Way" line and I wonder how it would look with Dresden plates...
I really like the texture you got by adding the yo yo center. Very nice!
I haven't gotten any further on my blocks. I really enjoy looking at everyone else's posts, though! You all inspire me so very much!
Not sure how this is a mistake... I really like this one! Reminds me of ice crystals and snowflakes.
