Great blocks Judy, love the fussy cuts. All your blocks look so good together.

Donna B:

Oh Judy, I really like your July blocks - especially the modern wheel.  Your fan fabric really adds a punch to it.

Thanks Donna. The July blocks, pattern and fabrics, are actually the only ones I like so far. I may consider an entire quilt from these two blocks.

Deb,

I used the one from the pattern, so I don't think I could use it but one way.  I still can't figure out what the heck I did wrong.  I need to make another one and see if I can figure it out.

Thanks Kris, Leslie, Debbie, Patricia, LaJuan and Marie.  It's the first time I've made Dresden Plates and intend to make more.

I hope I have as much fun as you!  I've got my wedges/petals cut for both blocks... I also made a 3.5" circle template out of the ironable template stuff so that I can do the "yo-yo" type center some people have been mentioning.  I think it will help me get a nicer applique, which is something I'm not great at.  Still trying to figure out background fabrics and centers.  (Yes, I started with the Dresden block because they look harder and I want to get them done.)  I love the look of the Dresdens so I may have to do a bigger project with them if I can get these first ones to turn out ok.

I'm loving everyone's pictures!  Keep them coming, they are helping to motivate me to not fall too far behind the rest of you!  I'm told I only have 1 more really bad chemo treatment and then they switch me to a different, milder type.  So hopefully I'll  be having more energy and be able to catch up and finish with you all in December!  (Trying to think cold thoughts these days... the heat in mid MN has been awful lately!)

Hope you all have a great holiday!

Judy this is really going to be a beautiful quilt!

finally got my July blocks done after tearing out my hair looking for my temple. It was the first one I ever bought and to save my soul I cannot find it anywhere, so I made them. Also used my Olfa circle cutter for the first time. I've had that one for years too LOL.

Greg:

still have April, May & June to do.  I had never completed anything applique before, but this was surprisingly easy.

Very pretty! I like the white on white background fabric! I'm so old fashion and usually use plain or muslin ! Perhaps, I should try something else. WTG, Greg
