Nancy, love your blocks. I had trouble with that chevron also, ripped it apart 4 times lol

I like your blocks, Nancy. They have a sophisticated look.

Nancy,
Really really like your colors! But that Balkan Star just jumps off the screen. Love it!

Thanks, friends!
Did the instructor tell us how big this quilt will finish to? I've never worked with 12 inch blocks before, and I think she said we'll end up with 20 of them. Okay, math... so 48 inches by 60 inches minimum - before sashing and borders. I guess that's not so big.

Nice work Nancy. Your blocks are gorgeous. Fantastic fabric selection.
MNnancy:Yea, I'm caught up! Here are my Jan/Feb blocks.
Very nice, Nancy - love the colors and the background.

MNnancy:I like the traditional line-drawn HSTs on the chevron over the faster method used on the Balkan puzzle block.
I had never seen that other way to make HSTs, interesting but I'm with you I like the traditional way better because of the bias edges the other way creates.
Beautiful color choices for your block, it's going to make just another beautiful quilt when all done.
Can't wait to see all the pictures.
MNnancy: Yea, I'm caught up! Here are my Jan/Feb blocks. I'm working with 4 base colors and hope to use different fabrics pulled from my stash on every block with the exception of the background fabric. I see I have one seam to rematch on the chevron to get a smoother line. I like the traditional line-drawn HSTs on the chevron over the faster method used on the Balkan puzzle block. That one turned out nice in appearance, but when I trimmed it to 12.5 inches, my points moved right out to the edge and so will get lost when the blocks are sewn together.

Nancy, your fabric choices are fabulous! I'm doing mine with scraps...you have inspired me to consider doing another set of blocks with coordinating fabric.....hmmmm
Kathy
