Greg, I would also like to welcome you. You've joined a great group as you've probably already suspected. Enjoy your time here and welcome again.

Welcome, Greg! Nice to see you join our group.
MaxNTopeka: Okay...I finished my Feb BOM. They aren't pretty, but they are done. And I think they are about as good as I can get HST! I keep trying to like the chunky chevron, but it just seems dense, heavy, something...as a whole quilt it would be fine. (Not for me cause it would require me to do a lot of HSTs!) but as just a single block it seems overpowering. IMHO. Do not adjust your color--they are black and white.

Oooh, I LOVE LOVE LOVE these! I am a huge color fan but these look so bold and elegant. Great job!
And I agree about the chevron block... could be nice as an all-over quilt, but I felt it to be too overpowering for my quilt, so I did the diamond one she showed as an example instead. I think you were actually able to pull it off with this color combo, though.

I agree that Max's blocks are elegant. I get the feel of tuxedos and formal gowns at the black and white ball.

Great blocks everyone...and I am loving the colors! Here are my February blocks. I too am not so wild about the chunky chevron, so when my additional floral fabric is received I think I will do a HST diamond block as Claudette did (great idea, Claudette). It may be a good back-up, just in case...
What is going on with my camera! First the date stamp was one day behind, and now it's one day in the future. I have enough trouble keep up with today, let alone trying to keep up with tomorrow...LOL!

Max,
I think they're great. so elegant and modern at the same time.
Donna, I really love these colors, it is going to be so bright and fun when it is done
Life is like a quilt...bits & pieces, joy & sorrow, stitched with love
Thanks Spud, it turned out the floral fabric was a Donna Dewberry design for Free Spirit...go figure! But I loved the colors, and it was pretty easy to find coordinating fabrics. Surprisingly, I could only find one on-line QS that still had this fabric!
Donna, I love your blocks

Pretty blocks Donna. I like your focus fabric and the green.
great choice of fabrics Donna. I like the focus fabric and how you have solids to match, with a great background fabric to show it all off.

Pretty blocks Donna and love the green with your focus fabric. Glad you could find more of it.
Thank all of you for your kind comments on my BOM blocks. Ya'll are most generous with your encouragement! I do think before it is all done I will probably pull the Clunky Chevron out of the mix...but I'll wait until I see what else comes in following months. Maybe something else will balance it out. If not, I'll probably 'steal' the diamond idea. I like it much better.
Sukochi--I just pinned the black strips around the blocks to test how it would look for a border. I think I will go with it in the final layout. And my design board has a light colored cover. The camera kept trying to blend the blocks into the board without the strips. It's all an illusion!
Donna--Your blocks just keep getting better the more you add. Your quilt is gonna be a knock out! I can't wait to see it all together.
Max
Nana,
Maybe I should name this quilt "The Penguin Gala"?
