Does anyone have a good set of instructions/ website/ tutorials on doing a self binding.

I do self binding for Quilts for Kids projects but, they never seem to turn out nicely.

I want them to look nice for the children.

Thanks,

Hi Renee-

Here are two sites

http://carinascraftblog.wardi.dk/2011/04/tutorial-self-binding-quilt.html

http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutorials-f10/backing-binding-aka-self-binding-quilt-t47705.html

I did this kind of binding on the Lone star baby quilt, but I used  "invisible" thread and a small zig-zag. I think you can click on the picture and get a close up too.

I hope it helps.

Eleanor Burns and Fons and Porter both have great tutorials on making binding. I also think if you check QCA  there are instructions here too!

Sorry I always forget something! I think binding the quilt is the hardest part of quilting. But once you get the hang of it, its second nature! So keep practicing!

This is the best tute I've seen on self binding.  Before reading this, my corners were always wonky.  Now they are near perfect.

I've never had the problem on one side being puckered.  Perhaps unpick it and pin it beginning in the center?
