I think it was in an advertisement for batik fabrics about six months ago. This quilt block has three squares, a large outer square, then an offset medium square and a smaller one that is not exactly square and offset from the other squares of the block.

Sabrina, that does look like the pattern. The blocks were closer and more of them but that pattern would work. I am going to make my pattern accordingly.

Althea, your quilt is beautiful! Your pappern will work too and it sounds very easy, make a larger square block and cut it into 4 sections and add sashing.

Sharon, I found two patterns in the Keepsake Quilting catalog.  One is called Hopscotch and the other is called Cabin Fever.  They were in the Fall 2011 catalog.  If you don't have the catalog I can send you the item numbers so you can look them up online.  J.P.

In the Moda Bake Shop they have a pattern like that...it's called Building Blocks, a baby quilt.  It looks like this.  I wonder if you saw it in an ad for Moda or something.  Anyway, go to modabakeshop.com and look for it.  It uses a layer cake.  Plus that site is full of cool free patterns using precuts.

This is really cute! This could have been the pattern I saw. I'm starting the quilt next week.

J.P. thanks for finding these patterns they are both great. Hopscotch also looks like the pattern I thought I saw.
