I work for a Dept of Labor Farmworker Jobs Program and made this quilt for a fundraising auction  in Wahington DC last week. It came out so beautiful that I had trouble giving it up.

I was rather disappointed with the auction. They held it on a different night than in years past so there was only about 30 people there (mostly men). It did go for $550.00 but I was hoping for more. Since I have always just given my quilts away as gifts it was nice to see a price tag on one.

Wow!!! $550. is great! Can't imagine how high it would have gone if there had been more people there. That is fantastic and I know you were proud to see it being auctioned but disappointed in how they did it. You did a great job!

Fabulous job Cheri... Too bad so few showed up and I can see why you would have trouble giving it up, but super of you to do it.

Cheri--

Your quilt is really lovely and the quilting is fabulous.  Beautiful job.  I can understand why you hated to part with it, but such a good cause.

Cheryl - you did an amazing job on this quilt - I am sure it was hard to see it leave your hands to go to a new home but you achieved your goal of raising money for it.  Your fabric stash must be really awesome!  I have never seen many of those fabrics.  Great job!
