I think I'm going to have one baggie for each group and use safety pins for my A's (small pin) B's (medium pin) and C's (large pin).  I'll label the baggies with group number....that way it'll only take 10 baggies and I have lots of safety pins in the 3 sizes.  Now just to figure out the groups! This is going to be fun!

Stephanie:

Sorry Sandy, It's in group. I have a tone on tone basket weave fabric. I just wanted to ask if this would work? It looks perfect color wise, but I just don't know if the subtle lines of the weave will lend itself to the pattern. If you Need a pic to visualize, I can post one in the morning.

Steph, it should work fine.  I used a light green tone on tone leaf design for the background in my batik version.

Kris:

These are my fabrics. The strips are all different but similar color groups. The LQS must have packaged them this way. I only opened the bag for the first time this week. The background is from yardage I bought last year.

First, love your avatar! Kitty looks like my new kitty, Ms Boots!

Second, love your fabrics.

Third, Mystery Quilt V is shaping up to look really interesting. Love everyone's fabric and now, I'm head over to see what today instructions are! Wahoo!

Here are most of my fabrics. Wanted to photo, before I cut. I have more strips than needed. A lot of these come off as midtone, so I have ordered more lights and darks to make sure I have enough contrast. The basket weave is my background and the other a border print.

I'm so EXCITED....more instructions.  I've decided I'm making BOTH quilts since I cut my fabric backwards two weeks ago.  Basically the same fabric, Thimbleberries, On the large quilt Thimbleberries will be the background and on the small quilt it will be the worms.  I'm going to post pictures as we start to sew for the one I am reversing.

Really pretty fabric, Marie! I like the big designs on the pink/black & cream/teal especially.

Kris, your fabrics are really pretty! The light green background helps set them off :-)

More great Fall fabrics, Stephanie :-)  You do have some lights & darks in there already.  Heck, most of my stash is medium! LOL  It's hard to pick really light & dark fabric sometimes.

Can't believe I can finally post pictures.  I've been waiting for my 14 year old son to show me how to download but all I could get was rolling eyes.  Finally my loving encouragement won and  I can get them posted before I start cutting TODAY.  Yeah!  Everything is from my stash.  My favorite is the background.  It's a quilt store fabric I purchased at a garage sale for next to nothing but has purple, green, blue and brown dragonflies that match perfectly with the fabric.

This is my first Mystery Quilt and I'm a little nervous about fabric selection.  Colors are mostly blue, green mauve, brown and lavendar.  Hope it's not to busy.
