Angele:

I tried to locate the Mystery Quilt V site and couldn't.  Is it up yet?  What is the date that the MQ will begin? Just getting antsy....Angele

Hi Angele.  It's part of the QCA site. Hit Home and along the left side you'll see a section called "Community Fun". That's Mystery Quilt 5  will be listed once it's ready for us to access.

Thanks Judy, I guess I was just too eager to look through properly.

You are not alone, Angele. I never noticed that either. But, I will sure keep a watch now. :-)

The Mystery Quilt V site won't officially start for another couple of weeks.  The section will open under the workshop when it offically starts.  Have fun.

MNnancy:

Sandy, will you be posting more specific info about the fabrics we'll need in a couple of weeks, or are we to be shopping for one jelly roll and a coordinating fabric now?

Nancy,

Complete fabric requirements and cutting instructions will be posted on September 16th and the first step will be posted on September 30th.  I just wanted to let everyone know about the jellyroll in case you might be traveling on this holiday weekend and visiting any LQS along the way.

I just got the QCA approval today for this start date so we will defintely be starting on the 16th,

Got it on my calendar. Sandy, I really appreciate the heads up on the jelly roll. I was in one of my favorite shops today and there, on the shelf, was a jelly roll like no other. It was gorgeous. It called to me and I answered...YES!

I hadn't intended to buy anything extra for the MQ5 but........what do you do when the fabric cries out and bats it's big baby blues?

Why you buy it of course, that's why my spare bedroom isn't so spare anymore.

No problem. Quilts don't care if you can spell or not. Keep those posts coming. A few spelling boo boo's now and then just add interest.

I have never done a MQ but have heard about them. I am waiting for a LQS to locate some fabric for me so I can start another quilt but so far they have not come through so I am ready and willing to jump in and make a MQ. Need a jelly roll? No Problem !  Any excuse to go buy fabric.

That's how I ended up with 2 jelly rolls that I had no plans for.  I saw them at a quilt show and couldn't pass them up.
