This was this week ends project.  One quilt block.  A log cabin block of a log cabin, out of Judy Martin's Log Cabin Qilt Book.  Need to do about 7 more.  Our local quild is making log cabin blocks for a quilt to raffle, and these will go in the quilt.  Saturday afternoon I cut pieces for 5 blocks, but when I put them together, the logs were not enough contrast from the roof and it was too blah.  I thought I was being clever finding landscape pieces that looked like wood, but the shadings of brown were too similar.  So I cut some more pieces and ended up with just one block so far.  I think I will make them all different.

patti, that is a really cute block.  I think the contrast you ended up with is wonderful... All the plans we make - it is trial and error...lol

I am getting fed up with myself - I know I must have needed a break after all the quilt work I did last year but now it is almost a week since i did any quilting so have to get motivated... I have too many projects that need working on so just need to jump start myself and i will be off and running.

I am going to again pull out all my UFOs and put them on hangers and hang them on my curtain rod in my livingroom ... that motivated me last year and I got a lot of old and new quilts made.  So up they will go and they will nag at me until I pull them down and finish them...

So we are ready to start...

I want this quilt on the machine!  I have been under the weather for days!  I usually get up about 8 am or earlier and go to bed at 3 am...lately sleeping 15-16 hours a day...tummy hates me!  I thought it might be a virus...only thing I had was a 100 degree temp and really sore, rummy tummy.   Might have been something I ate...don't know, but sure put a halt to anything that took any exertion at all.  All I could do is look at the sewing machine and wish.   I am online almost from the moment I get up...have been lying on sofa instead.  I felt good enough (after pain med) last night to get the first two rows sewn...though not perfect as I would like..they are getting done.

Marge, Beautiful quilt. I would want it on the machine too if i was you but be patient you will get it done.  I had that same thing you are talking about - it started new year's day only my temp was 102 + at times...I was sick for about 3 days got better and then went down again...now i am trying to build my stamina back up - haven't had much at all so I am sitting in my chair - i have been cleaning some each day getting my house back in order and playing online here and FB and SL... I know that my quilts will wait for me to be strong enough to do the job I need to do on them.. so be patient  - have added you to my prayers that you get your strength back quickly - our bodies do tell us what they need.

Again beautiful quilt - thank you so much for shairng and share again when you get it quilted please.

Patti,

That is so cute.  I would have never thought of doing it with the log cabin block.  Genius!

I really like your quilt, Marge! I look forward to seeing it quilted.

Now, for a question that's really none of my business: have you been to the doctor? I think 3 or 4 days of feeling unwell is understandable, but taking meds for stomach pain? I think you need to see the doctor. Just my 2¢ worth!

I do hope you feel better soon. I know you spend a lot of time quilting for yourself and others.

Marge

I agree with Judy.  If you have went 3 days with stomach pain and it is not a symptom that you have frequently you should see your Dr.  You should not have stomach pain for days at a time just from a virus.
