Ok-it was very icy here this morning. Had surgery last Fri for a torn rotator cuff(my 2nd one) and they cut off my torn bicep tendon as well. Here I am with my new Janome 6600-still hidden from my husband and I have bought fabric for 5 different quilts and an Alto Cut2 !!! So I'm thinking that maybe tomorrow with my "good arm" I could drag out the Alto thing and try cutting some strips????  Of course my 9 little critters won't leave me alone!--AND I have a new outside little guy called Smokey!! I put out a heated bowl and an igloo.  He actually let me touch the top of his head today! So wish me well on getting going with my toys !!!!

Wishing you a speedy recovery Elgato. Take care of the arm and don't try to do too much too soon. At least you got to play with Smokey.

I made two more DJ blocks. I'm forcing myself to sew:

Now I'm off to work on some hand appliqué

Yup Margaret  Kris is our resident expert on Dear Jane.  There is a group where you can see more of her offerings.  She is making THREE of them at once and turning our gorgeous work!

Yesterday I made a Christmas bedrunner.  Friday I quilted two quilts on the Millenium that were for a friend who lost her husband a year ago.  The quilts were from his shirts and are going to be gifts for her daughters for Christmas.  She didn't quilt before this so I just did an easy pattern that would show off the shirt fabric without too much distraction.  She has three daughters but only two quilts are done for this Christmas.

Today I put binding on a charity quilt and quilted/binded another.  I have one more to quilt/bind tonight.

I love cold weekends when you don't need to get out much.  They are so much more productive.  I even cleaned out the front office, did laundry and pay bills.  Back to work tomorrow :-( !

Jeanine, this is the second reference I've seen to a "bedrunner."  What exactly is that?

Nancy - I saw a whole book of them somewhere..... maybe Clotilde's catalog.  It looks like they are like table runners except they are made to go across the foot of the bed.  we had something like that (not quilted) on our bed in the cabin on the cruise ship.

. Cindy~

Your table runner is beautiful. I've never seen one like that before. You did a great job. I'm sure your step daughter will love it.

Hotels, I've been in with in the last year have bedrunners and no bedspread.  At first I thought the room didn't get made up yet.

Most of the bedrunners are very pretty and bright.

Thanks Barbara. The fabric for the top block is from a BOM from Stitchin' Heaven. I don't get to choose those. The red and white fabric I bought at the LQS when they were on sale for $2. per yard. I bought eight yards of each. My blue and white fabrics come from FQs I collect along the way. I've been contemplating giving up on the blue and white. Could be my mood tonight. We'll see.
