Thea, I'm glad that your hubby loved this quilt and asked it to "stay". That is the ultimate compliment and well deserved. The pattern really did your cardinal fabric justice.
I actually did work on a quilt today...I have been trying to make a final decision about what square I will choose for the birthday swap. (did I ever mention that I have a really hard time choosing when there are too many choices.) Anyway, I wanted to pick something fun and a little challenging. I have made my final decision. Now don't let me look at a pattern book or site again until after the end of the month. AND I picked up 2 quilts from the quilter yesterday. Poor girl she is so busy, she finished 60 quilts just last month and had both her long arms ready to quilt 2 more while I was there trying to get everyone's quilts done before Christmas. I will start the binding (not my favorite part of quilting) tonight while I watch TV.
What a grea idea to use a timer. I started an irish chain last night (finished almost all of the 9 patch blocks before realizing it is the TOTALLY wrong color). MEH!!! Take a look at another pin wheel that I made last night after the realization I was using the wrong color blue for the irish chain. It is not done yet, but getting closer. YET, another UFO sitting in my sewing room.
I am not sure how to add a new thread but wanted to share 2 new quilts. i got the pattern for the kids quilt from keepsake quilting
Pretty quilt. Love the colors!
Love the 2nd and 3rd also!
Hannah, Your quilts are very nice - you are working up a storm... glad to see someone love their work!
hannah, your quilts are beautiful you do nice work gini
the last block is DONE!!! and i think it is the prettiest. here it is and a few of the blocks together with the sashes sewn on two sides. gini
gini - are those all SBS blocks... WOW!!! I have 2 rows done but have gotten so busy that I haven't had time to work on mine - someday! I am either under a time limit for special projects or sick - but hopefully after the new year - I will be able to get back to DJ and SBS and finish mine up this coming year. Both will be hand quilted... I do love yours though and it does motivate me - WOW! I am truly impressed!
thanks thea, i made six extra blocks that weren't in the book. several i drew myself. they are all in this picture. what a project, it is all hand pieced. this is why i've been slacking on the dear jane quilt. i'm thinking i may have it quilted on a long arm. gini
Here is my tree skirt and the corresponding charity quilt made with the scraps.
Here is what is left! It went into the scrap pile.
Very pretty Jeanine
gini:the last block is DONE!!! and i think it is the prettiest.
They all look good to me but I agree the last block is very pretty. what a lot of work can be seen in this top. Do you have any idea how you will quilt it.
