Carol~

Another beauty! How come I never get anything completed and you guys have show and tell every day? You can tell the worker bees from the reader bees. I spend too much time reading posts to get anything done.

This is wonderful.

Nana:
redwork patches.
Nana, that was the intent of this mystery, to use some blocks you already had - these redworks were made for me by a quilting friend, and I was looking for a special way to use them when I saw this mystery.  I like the way these look, but also others used special fabris or pieced blocks for their blocks, and they look good too.

Thank you Nancy. I would be honored to do that.

The fireants and ticks this year have been overwhelming here this year. When my son (paramedic, firefighter) was on duty two days before Thanksgiving he had tucked in to one of their bunks for some rest and woke up with over 300 bites! He said he can't believe they waited until he was sound asleep before crawling into his bunk. Their wasn't a single one on him while he was laying there awake. I'm thankful he didn't end up in the hospital like people do with bee stings. The bites cause swelling and pustules and itch like the devil. They had to bring exterminators in.

I have been spraying our yard for ticks and fireants. We're supposed to have some 30 degree weather. I hope that takes care of some of them. People always teased that Florida is just one giant ant farm. LOL.

OOh i sure like this!   Love the redwork!  Love the Americana feel to the whole quilt.  Were the fabrics chosen for you or did you get to choose them?  because I am very moved by the color choices.  Its like the wagons are crossing over the Mississippi (Light blue diagonal pieced stripe) and going toward the desert (brown area in the lower corner) I sort of see the big blue area fields toward the top and upper right to be the Great Lakes.  How beautiful.  I love America.

Diane - I was going to keep it, but my grandma suggested i make it to fit her bed so she will be getting it.

Marge - They are prairie points.

Amber,

Love the prairie points in the border! What an incredible amount of work and a great border to add. Brought a huge smile to my face that your Grandma admired it and you are gifting it to her.  What a wonderful gift this will be, and thanks for sharing......
