I have not worked on a quilt in over a week. There is always so much to do. I am longing to quilt. I will not have my MQ3 done. But I have to finish it soon, as it is a Christmas gift for my daughter.

I did some hand sewing while chatting with my in-laws. The emphasis was mainly on chatting though so I did not make much progress.

Kris, You can copy on freezer paper with your printer. Yes, I've done that. You just need to watch and make sure that your settings are for 'other' and keep an eye on it so that it doesn't jam up.
Here is a picture of my Baltimore Album Sampler that I started in 2007. It is all together now and I'm hand quilting it. I'm glad that the weather is cooler now and sitting under the hand hoop will be cozy.
My sister-in-law had never quilted before, and this is what I started her on, oops but her's is beautiful. She is now working on a pieced sampler and hand quilt her Baltimore. Of course, I would never let anyone go without at least one UFO.

I really like this block. But it looks complicated-is it. I can almost see a finished quilt using it.

ROFLMBO Yes she does. We have dinner together every Wednesday night at my house and work on our quilts... I usually cook, perhaps that is why she is still talking to me OOPS! She is a sweetie. She works for the telephone company, long hours and her hubby is stay at home, but that is about all he does is "stay at home"..LOL
Moommist - I like it! A lot of work and inspiration - I want to do a Baltimore album but keep procrastinating. I also think it's hilarious that this is what you used to teach your SIL! She must have a lot of talent and be forgiving of her SIL!

MNnancy: If you use C&T's wash away applique sheets, you can trace or print on them, iron them to your applique piece, glue stick the seams under, and sew your pieces by hand or machine onto each block. When the quilt is done, toss it in the washing machine and the applique sheets wash away - no paper to cut out! That's the Beth Ferrier technique I learned this summer.

Now this kind of applique I could do. So far I find it intimidating though I've done some on Christmas stockings and it wasn't that bad. I used fusible interfacing and satin stitched. I've done where you sew it wrong sides together and slit the backing and turn it right sides out and then sew it on. I've never tried the turning under the seams. I'll check out the Beth Ferrier techinique. Thanks for the info.

Kris~ I know you like food but this is carrying things a little too far. Hand chewing while chatting with the in-laws? Doesn't that hurt?
