I didn't sew today. I've been working on a Halloween quilt for the grans and so far have completed a top I really like and one I don't. I've cut a duplicate of the quilt top I like and now I'm pooped. My Son and Daughter-in-Law will be home tomorrow. I've enjoyed the boys so much. I'll be happy to get back home to Steve, but will really miss Cam and Nate.
There has been some discussion about the cost of having a quilt top quilted. I have always paid by the inch...am I paying too much?
cindy i think it depends more on the going rate in your area gini
gini in north idaho
No no working on a quilt for me. I'll be getting the shakes if I don't sew something soon.
Barbara:I have 5 more shops to visit.
Barbara, all the KC shops are wonderful, aren't they? I have been to most of them. I am an hour away from the west and south side of KC. I didn't have time to do the shops this time. In March or April there is a shop hop that includes Quilter's Station, Prairie Pieces, Quilter's Haven, the one in Parkville, one in Overbrook, KS, Topeka, KS, Lawrence KS. and the one in Leavenworth. I haven't been to that one in a while either. Always something else going on then for me. Have fun. Elaine
Love your wall hanging and the way you were able to re-purpose the sun-damaged fabric. Very creative.
Here are pics of the place mats and table mat I finished this past weekend. The place mats are reversible and I practiced lots of decorative stitching on the table mat. Fun project
Today I worked on quilting the HG borders of Jodie's Sampler. Finished cross-hatching only one side, but it's going well, if slowly.
I love your placemats and table mat. Beautiful fabrics and pattern.
Joyce! beautiful table mat and place mats!
I have been busy, unbelievably busy this last month, but things are calming down now. I will be posting the next installment of the Little House Quilt project this Saturday. Hope you will come check that out. In the mean time, here is a little slide show of the very small town 2010 Colfax Railroad Days Quilt Show, the 5th annual. The quilts run the range of beginner to expert, it's fun for the locals and brings a few tourists into the town for the day. Great fun had by all. I hope you enjoy it, it's what I've been up to! And I won a ribbon!!!
joyce, your table mats and placemats are great. do you have a close up of your decorative stitches gini
Thanks for sharing. Some really beautiful quilts. Congratulations on your ribbon. Very neat little town.
