Did you work on a quilt today?

I was expecting workmen today so had to pack up a queen size and take down frames.  Then they didn't come!  Now that is working on a quilt.

Summary of Life

GREAT TRUTHS THAT LITTLE CHILDREN HAVE LEARNED:
1) No matter how hard you try, you can't baptize cats..
2) When your Mom is mad at your Dad, don't let her brush your hair.
3) If your sister hits you, don't hit her back. They always catch the second
person.
4) Never ask your 3-year old brother to hold a tomato.
5) You can't trust dogs to watch your food..
6) Don't sneeze when someone is cutting your hair..
7) Never hold a Dust-Buster and a cat at the same time.
8) You can't hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk.

GREAT TRUTHS THAT ADULTS HAVE LEARNED:
1) Raising teenagers is like nailing jelly to a tree.
2) Wrinkles don't hurt.
3) Families are like fudge...mostly sweet, with a few nuts
4) Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground...
5) Laughing is good exercise. It's like jogging on the inside.
6) Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fiber, not the toy..

GREAT TRUTHS ABOUT GROWING OLD

1) Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional...
2) Forget the health food. I need all the preservatives I can get.
3) When you fall down, you wonder what else you can do while you're down there.
4) You're getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that
you once got from a roller coaster.
5) It's frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you
the questions...
6) Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician
7) Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone.

These were so cute I passed some on to my FB friends...I especially laughed about the cereal...My husband and I were just discussing his choice in cereal....seems his choice contains tree bark.

  Thanks, Marie - we all needed that laugh!  I did work on quilts today - did a few more strips on my JellyRoll Log Cabin that is my in between project.  MQ3 got step one yesterday.  Also today, I made several little (have 12 total)bags for the Nursing Home - they need them for oxygen tubes or something like that - I taught the other ladies in my club to do them, too - so Thursday's meeting we should have enough to supply their needs - those in the medical field would know why they wanted little drawstring bags, I guess - we just try to help out any way we can.  I have been putting off working on the BOM - maybe will do some quilting on that tomorrow, think my back will allow it now - hurt too much the last few days to wrestle with that quilt, but there it sits, looking at me!!  Happy quilting days to all !!

Did you post your MQ3 step in the forum for MQ3? We'd love to see pic's of your projects. I know those full quilts can be a lot to wrestle with, Hope tomorrow you'll feel better.

How long have you been here? They do say that your blood will thicken and you'll find the winters not as cold. I know you hate the cold. We would miss you awful but we'd always have you online. If this isn't the right place for you, you don't want it to squash you down. You will never be happy. This must be so hard for everyone....Dh and family.

October 3rd will make it two years since I've lived in Maine but I've been in the US since 1992. 

I want to move south with shorter winters and longer summers. I'd be happy moving back to VA or NC. I loved both states. I will never be used to the cold.

DH wants to live close to his family but they don't mind traveling.

I can't believe with the economy the way it is that anyone would not show up for work!  

Stephanie, it is really bad here.  I wanted some work done on my driveway.  Of the 5 people I called, one showed up to give an estimate and then he never showed to do the work and so our driveway sits untouched.  Here even if you get someone out to do the work, odds are they will do a crappy job, there is no pride in workmanship anymore either.

This is what I have been working on for about a week now.  I have been doing this one as a QAYG  and have used my embroidery module for part of the quilting.

This center section is FMQ.

These 2 sections are done on the embroidery module.   Have several more steps to quilt and then need to add at least 2 more rounds of blocks.  But I am really liking the results.  And having alot of fun doing it.

If I was doing it again I would use monofilament on the bear blocks but I am not taking it out.  From a distance the block looks very nice.
