Vivian :DWR Double Wedding Ring. I'm thinking of trying the method taught by Sharon Pederson. Its an applique method and seems easy enough for me to do.
I always wanted to make a DWR quilt. I'm thinking of doing fons and porter's pre-cut kit.
I pieced the backing and loaded the backing and batting on the frame so I can begin quilting my ugly "Dr. Who" quilt for the SIL. I've only got one week left to get it done. I was counting on having a week before Christmas without the grandsons here (they will go down to Sacramento for a week with their Dad), but school doesn't get out here in Fernley until December 23rd.
I just finished the 20 exchange blocks for the VA Beach retreat. Sorry can't share pics of this one. Now on to piecing some blocks to use for applique.

In a couple minutes I am on my way to the Saturday sew. (Never mind that it is Friday, but it is scheduled today.) And the only thing I am taking is the ROMAN SHADES. This UFO is over 10 years old, and I keep promise my DH that I will get them done. Today is birthday, (he's going to Wenatchee to a recital, I've heard him sing this song, just one week ago for a benefit concert.) So I am only packing the shades so I won't be tempted. Sewing from 3 to 10.

OK, quilt is all loaded. Now to fill up some bobbins, give the machine a quick cleaning and decide on my top thread...but oh, look at the clock, the grandsons get out of school in another 15 minutes.
Well, I did get 4 of the 14 placemats finished today, and a gift basket put together for my neighbors. Sure hope everyone else is doing better with their projects than I am.
good luck with those blinds. I am going to work on my drapes between Chrismas and New Years. Not as long term a project but I can get them off the floor in my sewing room.
Nice work Barbara, the flower stitching is sure pretty.
thank you Bonita, Barbara
EAT!! SLEEP !! QUILT!!

I have to chuckle because I remember you saying that same thing in Leavenworth! Good luck!

Really wanted to finish that stack-n-whack today, but instead went out for breakfast, grocery shopping, and errands, then home for a long dog walk, and then baked an apple-cranberry pie while DH made his famous smoked salmon chowder. We'll be eating well tonight and watching a DVD movie.
The binding is going on tomorrow for sure with pictures to follow! Thanks for the nice comments about my pointy quilting motif - I love it because it's easy, it allows me to change direction quickly, and it looks a little different than a normal stipple. I need to move beyond that, though. I want to master straight lines with the HQ ruler next.
Patti, are those the same Roman Shades we saw in pictures of the Leavenworth Retreat? I really loved it and thought it looked about finished. If you don't finish them before September maybe you could bring it to the retreat and I could see them close up!! : - )
Haven't gotten far on any projects this week (or last week) Just can't seem to get my act together and git er done.
No quilting for me today, but I did get the last quilt in the mail!!! Got a call from the womenwho sent me the QOV to longarm. She recieved it today and was so pleased with the quilting :) Made my day!!!!! She was shocked it was only the 7th quilt I have done. She is sending me more!!!
