Bonnie your quilt and quilting is delicious!

After hearing such high praise for Glide poly thread and their Magna-Glide bobbins (Fil-Tec), I ordered some to try. What size needle are you using with these products on typical cotton quilts with cotton batting?
On the banks of the Mississippi River in north central Minnesota (Brainerd lakes area)
Bonnie, your quilt is absolutely stunning! Love the way its quilted!

MNNancy, I have a Queen Quilter (Tin Lizzie) & I use #18 for my Glide threads. Works just fine.
Here's Deep in the Heart of Texas. I'm putting it in our Guild's show in Oct.
I LOVE those bobbins. I was struggling with stitches I really liked and these solve everything. I did a little research and followed what others did, which is a size 18. Many people say these use Glide for top and bottom with more modern quilts and stay with Superior Threads in the top only for more classic quilts. The testomials on the website go on forever and I'm added to the list. Hope you like them.
Cindy,
Love the Texas quilt. My daughter lives SE of Dalls in Forney. She would absolutely love this for their house.
Ramona,
Thanks for the kudos! Forney is about a 30 minute drive from me! I live by Lake Tawakoni just East of Terrell!
Cindy, Nice quilt! Great job!
Thank you Judy!
That's close. Our daughter used to work in Terrell as a physical therapist and ran a facility there. She is now at the one in Forney. Much closer to home. We just went to TX to visit over the 4th of July. If I had known, we might of been able to get together for lunch. Maybe next time.

Love Glide! I use a 18 usually.
Has anyone tried Fil-Tec's cotton thread (Cairo Quilt) and cotton magn-bobbins on regular sewing machines for piecing?
Hi all-Please help!
I am having problems with the thread on the back of my quilt. I am getting loops about every 15-20 inches. I have checked/double checked the bobbin tension and I did change it a little. I tightened the top just a smidge and the loops are not as big. I just don't know which one to loosen or tighten...the top of bobbin. I had loops on the top once and I tightened the top tension and it cleared right up. Please help. I'm using yellow thread on a blue backing and it's really showing the loops. I have used this thread before and didn't have issues. I have noticed on the last few quilts I've done that there was a loop just every now and then but this is worse. The thread weight is 40. Maybe someone else has had this problem and knows what to do to fix it. Thank you so much.
I'm just learning on a friends Gammill and I am working hard to slow down and keep my speed even on the loops and curves, too. But it is so much fun. Wish I could get a machine of my own. She is going to have me do some of her customer quilts once I get good and then I may be able to save up for my own machine.
Huggz,
Donna
