Hello, my name is Sherry, I have been quilting with my grandmother for the last few years.  I prefer to hand quilt and machine piece.  My first quilt (broken chain) was one that we did for my son's high school graduation a couple of years ago, with my mother and sister helping he has  3 generations that worked on his gift.  I am getting ready to start a traditional oceans waves quilt, although it calls for a number of small prints in indigo I plan on using a solid dark blue.

Welcome, Sherry.  I machine piece and hand quilt, too.  Ocean Waves makes a pretty quilt.  Can't wait to see photos.  You are lucky to have your family to quilt with.  What a joy and how lucky your son is to get such a treasure!

Hi Sherry!  Welcome to QCA.  I look forward to seeing pictures of your work.  Hand quilting - wow!  I'm in awe.

Welcome Sherry,

I, too, like the Ocean Waves pattern. I look forward to seeing yours. Keep us informed on your progress. I really enjoy hand quilting as well as hand piecing but I also like the (almost) instant gratification of machine work.

Hi Sherry welcome.  I really love hand quilting over machine quilting.  I find it relaxing to do hand piecing.

Welcome Sherry. My name in Bettie from Northcentral PA. If you have a picture of your son's quilt post it so we can see your work. It sounds beautiful. I don't know much about names of quiltes. What is Ocean Waves? Or is it just what it sounds like? Glad to have you on board! Bettie
