Hi Thea,

You have me stumped on one acronym you use sometimes on the site. You sometimes say you are working on a BOP. What is BOP? I tried to look it up online. I found "Bird of Paradise" "Balance of Power"  and the funniest answer I got was "Boring Old People".  LOL! Please tell me so I can add it to the list!

QCA Liz S.

Liz - I name my quilts - I shorten the long name - BOP in this case stands for Bird of Paradise... It is the name of the quilt pattern that I was making - am now done with it....lol Boring Old People - Old People are far from boring -at least the ones I know.

I always get a kick out of acronyms used by different groups to mean different things.  So, what if we used WIFI for "will it finish itself"? I sure wish some of my projects would do just that :-)

It looks like a lot of groups and individuals have created similar lists – check these out online:

Glossary of quilting terms

http://www.straw.com/equilters/library/tips-hows/glossary.html

from Quiltbug.com

http://www.quiltbug.com/Articles/quilt-terms.htm

looks like many of the acronyms already on our list are also here.

From Quiltpox.com

http://quiltpox.com/Tools/abbreviations.html

more repeats, but some new ones as well.

Many from the original list on two blogs:

http://idahoquilter.blogspot.com/2008/10/bom-block-of-month-dsm-domestic-sewing.html  go, Janet :-)

http://blarma2001.blogspot.com/2008/05/acronyms.html

From a Lighthouse Quilter’s Guild newsletter:

http://www.lighthousequiltersguild.org/newsletters/Jan2009_LHQ_Newsletter.pdf

a few aren’t on our list yet.

More repeats are out there in other blogs, guild sites and more.
