Hi, my name is Macy and I live in Southern California. I've been piecing for 12 years and Long arm Quilting for 10 years.....and I love every minute of it. I am also a Quilt in a Day Certified Quilt Teacher. Now that that is out of the way....Quilting is my passion and teaching is what I do (I get great joy from teaching). I love meeting with my Quilting Friends for a sit & sew or jumping in the car to the next Quilt Show. I just like having fun!
Hi Macy,
Welcome. I'm fairly new to quilting. Could use some good tips, and I'm sure you've got some! lol. Glad your here! I love watching Quilt in a Day.
Welcome Macy.

Hi Macy. so, what does one do with quilts in Southern CA? I made my sister-in-law a quilt, who lives near L.A. Says she loves it but won't use it much until they move to Oregon.
You sound like a fun teacher to have.

Welcome to the group Macy. I have watched a few Quilt in a Day shows and am doing the Ungerground Railroad quilt. I will admit that because I am choosing to do that quilt all by hand it has taken much longer than a day, years in fact. I have so much going on that that quilt gets pieced little by little when I have the time.

Welcome, where in So Cal do you live?? Are you near San Marcos - Quilt in a Day Store?
Welcome Macy. Hope you enjoy your time with us.

So, Macy, what type of LAQ do you use? There is always an ongoing debate about machines in this site. (see downpayment on Millenium posts) Free motion quilters site could use some encouagement as well some of us seem to have bogged down with the practice sessions. Welcome and jump in at the deep end.
Welcome, Marcy! You've found the right spot for an avid quilter like yourself. Hope you enjoy QCA :-)

Welcome Macy. What does the above mean exactly? Do you work for QIAD or do you own a franchise? I'm curious because that's where my love of quilting came from, Eleanor Burns on my PBS station years ago. I love her and her methods. Do you get to see her and interact with her?
Please do share some pics of your quilts with us, we love to see some.

The Certification means you went through their week long, hands on Teacher Training....and you have spent $$$ to do it! Being a teacher already helps me teach naturally...I like teaching all ages. I do teach at QIAD and no there are no Franchises. Yes, I know Eleanor and yes, I do interact with her.....She is a wonderful, uplifting, and personal person. If you ever have the chance to meet her, do so. ..and as with you...I took my first quilting class at QIAD in San Marcos, Ca....and it went from there!!!! I would love to be a Speaker someday.....I will have to see what the Lord has in store for me! It's nice to meet you. Where did you get your QIAD Certification?
I'd be glad to help you anytime....send your questions my way and I will try to answer them...that will make me look smart, eh?
