Hello my name is Gerri. I have been sewing and crocheting for years, but never seem to have the time to get into quilting. When my mom got sick, I started spending more time with her and we started talking quilts. She would give me her books to read, talk about different patterns, but never actually worked with her on a quilt. After she passed away it took three years to get up the courage to start a quilt. With the prompting of my granddaughter I finally did it. I have loved it every since.
I have worked on three quilts since then. Wish I had more time for it, but enjoy my paying job too.
My interests are in learning more about the actual quilting of the layers as most of what I have been able to see on TV seem to skip that part. So much to learn!
Welcome, Gerri! We're happy to have your company!

Congratulations on the success of completing 3 quilts! I'm so glad that you joined us.
Your story is heart warming and sad. I am a longarm quilter, my most prolific quilting client is suffering with lung cancer and could no longer go to her sewing room. So, when her daughter came down to help after be placed on hospice, I took my Accuquilt Go to her house. The Mom and Daughter are working on a Grandmother's Garden together. Now the Daughter, who is now my friend , is hooked on quilting by hand and will have a wonderful memory of her Mom as well!
