I just wanted to show you a quilt I made for my FIL in memory of my MIL. My MIL loved flowers and her garden. It is a Mark Lipinski pattern. The fabric is large bright, realisic looking flowers. The pattern is supposed to look like flowers peeking through lattice.

And it does look like flowers peeking through lattice, Janie. It is very pretty. I'm sure you're FIL will be pleased to receive it!

The quilt is really pretty.  It look like you're looking at a flower bed.

This is really cute. I like the red stars lying in the flower bed.

Very pretty, Janie!  What color is the back of the quilt?

I love the flowers, they are realistic and so colorful.  Great choice of pattern to use them in.

MNnancy,

The back of the quilt is also white like the lattice.

Thank you to all that responded to the picture of my quilt. Your kind words are very nice and appreciated.

My FIL loves his quilt, he lives in Florida (not what I would call quilt weather), however he says he wraps it around him when he is sad and it helps him remember the happier times.

Janie--

Beautiful story.  I believe that's what quilts and quilting are all about--bringing comfort both physically and spiritually.  Bless your FIL and all your family as you work through your loss.

The motto for my quilt ministry is "Sharing God's love through the warmth and comfort of our quilts".  I believe that to be true even though I can't really come up with a good explanation why.  There is some kind of "magic" in quilts.  Your quilt is beautiful, Janie.
