I did work on a quilt today. I finished a queen size top and I think just the sewing took me about 2 weeks! There are 72 blocks and each block has 23 peices. I don't have the backing fabric for it yet as everything I have seen is too expensive or I don't like it. I'm one of those people who will not start another project until the current one is complete and here I find myself searching for patterns and fabric for the next one. Looks like I might have my first UFQ(uilt). This hobby is addictive and I have found that I am never too tired to sew but I may be too tired to do housework or gardening lol.
Sushi,
sorry to hear about your DH. I hope the surgery goes well. I say a prayer for you both.
sushi, i hope your husband flys through surgery and is all better

Slushi, I'm sorry to hear about your husband. I will put him on my prayer list and pray for his quick and full recovery. Quilting is a good diversion so continue to work on that grand baby's quilt.
Will keep your husband and you in our prayers. My husband has been where you are a few times and I have been in your husbands position as the patient.
Enjoy working on your quilt. I know when things go on here it helps.

Sushi, sorry I got an extra l in there somehow.
I haven't been paying total attention to this thread which is because it is posted a lot lol. I'm sure the quilts are gorgeous any quilts are to me. I have one of mine posted in the gallery and the block party contest entry as well. The rest of mine are on my facebook page. I did not work one on yet today but will as I will be home all day today. I did work on one yesterday I cut several of the fabrics I needed to finish three blocks and did some chain stitching for the quilt. Ashley your grandma probably taught you how to chain allready but if she didn't it is much quicker and faster for the simpler squares, triangles patterns. I hope to have this one finished by Christmas for my friend who calls himself my adopted daddy lol. He is a friend and an old co-worker of mine from where I used to work. Once it is done I will post it in the gallery and on facebook.
Sushi, I'm sorry to hear about your husband's health condition. I hope you find comfort in quilting while he waits for surgery and again during the period of post-op care that he will require. Our thoughts will be with you.

Mz M, congrats on finishing such a large quilt. I'm sure you'll find just the right backing very soon. The housework can certainly wait! LOL
I am working on quilting a practice piece, I think that counts as quilting for today. Tomorrow will be more of the same, just starting later in the day
Sushi, sorry about your DH, will say a prayer. Did you put him on the prayer list in off topic? Hoping he has a speedy recover.

Just got back from setting up for our monthly quilt day tomorrow. I still need to do an update to the pattern we are doing as I decided at the last minute to size it down a bit. I have the sample quilt done and I think I might even put in on the longarm and get it quilted tonight.
