I have worked on quilt blocks today. I am making an embroidered leaf block to go with the appliqued leaf blocks that I am taking to the NW retreat. Also been working on a couple of projects that I am making to use as door prizes at the retreat. It feels good to get back to sewing. I have really missed it.
Here is the latest Marine quilt. I like this one the best. I think the stars with the white background really pop. I am now working on reworking this pattern for two Army quilts a coworker ordered. We'll see if I can make it work. I think this quilt works because it is so simple and sometimes simple is hard to achieve with style.
Jeanine this quilt is really great looking - very impressive, but then all of yours are !
I need to make my husband an Army one...I'll be curious to see what kind of fabric and design you come up with. Your marine quilts are really very striking...I'm thinking of making one for a grand nephew who is in the Marines right now.

I have never seen that flower before Carol. Very pretty.
Jeanine, your quilts are handsome, and distinguished. Very, very nice.
Beautiful quilt. Love it.
Beautiful quilt, Jeanine! My father was a marine - and was one of the ones who landed on the beaches at Iwo Jima....
Wonderful quilt as usual Jeanine.

I'm working on some borders and hopefully will be able to start binding this afternoon
Jeanine, great job. You are correct. The stars on white background in corners set this off.
Keep up the great work for our military. We cannot thank them (and their families) enough for the sacrifices they make.
