Margaret Weber:

I am interested in knowing if there is a better photo fabric to use.

I am kind of collecting opinions on that myself.  Electric quilt co has several to choose from.  I started with just the regular 200 thread count fabric

Ladies:

There are a number of discussion on this topic here are some you might be interested in reading:

Oh no, once I'm ready to quilt, I want to go, there is no practicing for me... I locked my doors to make sure that the QP (quilting police) cannot get in. They would have to get a search warrant to get into my sewing room

You are a brave woman!  Do you use pantographs or stencils or something to help you stitch designs you have not practiced?  Love the QP comment!  Unfortunately, I have a tendency to police myself.

Well, now this is the third time I've tried to answer this, but it keeps disappearing on me. Thank you for thinking I'm brave, but I'm really just impatient. You know at my age, patience is no longer a virue, I want to do it now is my motto. LOL I'm quilting my MQ4 freeform in swirls and heart or whatever my "heart" lets my hand do.

I hope everyone is safe after the stormy night across the midwest. We got some wind lots of thunder and lighting and lots of water, but the wind wasn't too bad and so far I've not heard of any tornados touching down.

TC and stay safe!

xoxoxo

it is.. I am so in love with that quilt. I am a person that does "learning by doing" so when I make stuff for my little ones or my kids, I always try new stuff out, they are my guineapigs... hmmmm I can post a picture of it in the unfinished state, I suppose. this is before I found the perfect fabric for the border :)

this is really cute sushi.. love the pink frogs. WTG.

Kris, thank you for the links on photo quilts.  I will be checking them out as I get time.  I have really enjoyed doing the photo quilts and want to make more in the future.

I am doing the same thing. I keep saying Yes but I really don't have time.  With work and reno, it is a nightmare to schedule anything I WANT to do.  I finally gave back a quilt that was waiting for a binding and will do the same with the one on my frame.  That will get me caught up with the bottom layer (oldest commitments)  the top layer can wait for after laundry and housework in what ever week those ones get done.
