I work in an office and I have found that the removalable box top from a case of paper is great for arranging block segments, finished blocks, strips, etc.  The box top measures 12x18" and is 3" deep. With limited sewing space in a corner of my bedroom, using the box tops makes it easy to store "work in progress" by sliding them under the bed when I finished sewing for the day.

I use those box covers for small pieces that I need to spray with spray adhesive, so it stays in the box and doesn't get all over the table.

Asking a quilter to mend something is like asking Picasso to paint your garage.

Both excellent ideas.

I do this too.  I have also discovered that the box that holds individual potato chip bags that we buy for our lunch boxes is great for bigger blocks or projects as well.

Hi Jackie. Great idea. I use pizza boxes. Great for strips, etc. Must get to the boxes before the pizza, tho.  ;=)

Great idea, Joyce. Will have to watch for a box cover. -- Do you suppose it would work for containing hair spray  so it doesn't get all over the bathroom?  ;=)
