I just bought Kim Schaefer's Calendar Quilt book & have the top of the April quilt finished. I am very pleased with how it turned out and it went together quite quickly. My question is: the pics show all over, meandering quilting and I don't know if I want to do that. Have any of you done these wall hangings and how did you quilt it?

Linda - all the "old timers" talk about the quilt speaking to them as to how they decide to quilt it.  If your quilt doesn't tell you to do a meander all over it, go with what you feel.   Do you think it would look good with outline quilting or maybe you see it with a viney type pattern?  Can you post a picture?  Maybe that would get someone's idea juices flowing for you.

linda, could you post pictures so we can see the blocks.    i made a quilt this winter and i put different quilting in some of the blocks.  it turned out pretty good.

if you click on this it should enlarge it.  if that doesn't work, you can click on my name and go to my gallery, you will be able to enlarge the picture there.    gini

I haven't seen the calendar quilt, so not sure how it is organized.  But, if I were to do one, I would embroidery a circle around each important date

Linda - is this April's quilt? You could do stitch in the ditch in the shapes, vary quilting in the blocks like Gini did on her quilt, do echo quilting in shapes (i.e. progressively smaller tear drops in the rain drops), etc.  Have fun with it!

Unfortunately, my quilts don't speak up until I have quilted for about an hour.  And it's usually, "I don't know about that. . .doesn't feel right" or "you've got to be kidding.!"

Followed by "I should have..."  and "Now why didn't I..."  and "I wonder if I can change it?..."

Gini, I think I said this in an earlier post but I'll say it again, this is gorgeous!  And the quilting is superb!
