I am interested in start5ing a forum usintg 10" squares (layer cakes). Everyone will be asked to supply 2 10" squares of the theme fabric. We need at least 21 people for this to work. Along with your fabric you will receive a pattern for the project. As this is the 1st attempt to start we will use Spring/Summer fabrics. Best choices are prints or batik prints. I have already done a quilt in Oriental and will be entering it in the Putnam County Fair, Florida in March. Come on ladies and lets have some fun.

PS -- I am a former QS owner and customers paid $35 for this class when I had them come to my shop.

Still not sure what type of group this is so if someone could fill me in that would be nice. I love spring and summer fabrics and also layer cakes. So this might be a nice group for me to do.
Thanks Lisa (AKA threadhappy)
Each participant will send 2 --10" squares for each person in the group (example 21 people = 42 10" squares). You will receive back a total of 42 10" squares together with the pattern for the quilt. You may have to add additional fabric such as borders but the pattern will include everything you need to make the top including any additional fabrics requirements you may need to add. I will post a pix shortly of a finished quilt using this method. Hopefully we will have some fun making a new quilt every 2 months. I will give you a theme for each quilt (IE: black/white/red, batiks, orientals, Christmas). The fabric you choose to send in for the quilt swap will be solely up to you and you will be amazed at how unique looking each quilt in this series will be. These are very easy to piece and the results are a quilt top in just a few days.
Sounds like fun. I really love some of the orientals that are on the market now but haven't made a quilt out of any of them yet. Did make a shower curtain.....LOL>

Are these 2 - 10" squares to be the same fabric or 2 different fabrics?
Richard, I'm interested in Layer Cake Fun so you could add me to the list.
