Of course I talk to my fur babies -- all the time.  They talk back too.  Can't you hear them?  They never say a word, but they talk to me all the time.  I know what they are thinking.  We have quite the conversations sometimes.  They are very intelligent.  They have life figured out in more ways than I do, that's for sure.  ;  )

Annie is really quite the chatterbox.  She's very emotional too -- for a labrador.

I know what you mean, Kath.  Sometimes I think God made dogs just so we'd have a good example of what unconditional love looks like.

Marge

My prayers go up for the Davis family.  That is so tough.   Sorry about the DGS. It is hard when the "kids' start growing up.

1955 FORD THUNDERBIRD and The Conversations That Went With It!

This from today issue of

Quilter's Quarters Home of the e-Quickie

Comments made in the year
1955!
(That's 55 years ago!)

'I'll tell you one thing, if things keep going the way
they are, it's going to be impossible

To buy a week's groceries for $20.00.

'Have you seen the new cars coming out next year?
It won't be long before $2,000.00 will only buy a
used one.

'If cigarettes keep going up in price,

I'm going to quit.
A quarter a pack is ridiculous.

'Did you hear the post office is thinking about
charging a dime just to mail a letter
?

'If they raise the minimum wage to $1.00,

Nobody will be able to hire outside help at the store.'

'When I first started driving,

Who would have thought gas would someday cost 29 cents a gallon..
Guess we'd be better off leaving the car in the garage.

'I'm afraid to send my kids to the movies any more..
Ever since they let Clark Gable get by with saying
DAMN in GONE WITH THE WIND,

It seems every new movie has either HELL or DAMN in it.

'I read the other day where some scientist thinks
it's possible to put a man on the moon by the
end of the century.

They even have some fellows they call astronauts
preparing for it down in  Texas   .

'Did you see where some baseball player just signed a
contract for $75,000 a year just to play ball?

It wouldn't surprise me if someday they'll be
making more than the President.

'I never thought I'd see the day all our kitchen
appliances would be electric.

They are even making electric typewriters now.

'It's too bad things are so tough nowadays..

I see where a few married women are having to work
to make ends meet.

'It won't be long before young couples are going to
have to hire someone

To watch their kids so they can both work.

'I'm afraid the Volkswagen car is going to open the
door to a whole lot of foreign business.

'Thank goodness I won't live to see the day when the
Government takes half our income in taxes.

I sometimes wonder if we are electing the best
people to congress
.

'The drive-in restaurant is convenient in nice weather,

But I seriously doubt they will ever catch on.

'There is no sense going to Lincoln
or
 Omaha anymore for a weekend,
It costs nearly $15.00 a night to stay in a hotel.

'No one can afford to be sick anymore,

At $35.00 a day in the hospital it's too rich for
my blood.'

'If they think I'll pay 50 cents for a hair cut, forget it.'

Quiltless Kath - your fur babies should join the other fur babies over in "Farm Animals and More"    They tell it like it is!

Cool, MoomMist! Thank you!

Richard,I'm sorry but I really don't have any plans to produce actual t-shirts. I just like to stir things up. LOL

I woke up to DS1 hacking and wretching this morning. Naturally I assumed the flu had come to spend a few days at our house...but no. The goof had stashed a glass of milk in his room a few days ago and had taken a  swig of it this AM. YUCK!! I can't imagine what he was thinking. One thing about it, life is never dull with kids in the house...

It finally warmed up! The temp was 28 degrees ABOVE zero when I checked it last! YAY!!!!

MiL showed up here yesterday afternoon. To my knowledge it's the first time she's gone anywhere, that we didn't  have to take her, since she moved in November. She'd spoken to Dh in the AM and I heard him tell her then that he's on night shift, so after he talked to her he was heading to bed for the afternoon. When she showed up she put on a huge show about being upset that she'd woken him up and gushed all over about how if she'd only known he would be asleep....  I coulda strangled her. I really do not know if she'd forgotten what he told her, or if she was faking, but either way it wasn't nice. She wanted him to fix her cell phone "in case his sister called." She'd talked to his sister a few hours earlier, so I seriously doubt they'd be talking again in the next 16 hours, not to mention SiL only calls her on her land-line (on the rare occasions she does the calling) .... But, by gosh, that phone had to  be twiddled with RIGHT NOW! I guess i should be glad it got her out of the house.  :S  She carried on about how she wanted to see the kids, but couldn't stand to stick around more then a few minutes after they got out of school. DS1 asked if Grandma was mad at him because she left so fast after he got home. He was just heartbroken that she didn't even stay long enough to see his art projects. Poor kid... Grandma doesn't know what she's missin

Now It's a new day. The sun is shining. :D

My friend sent me this. I thought it was worth sharing. It's pretty scary when you think about it:
