Grandma Sal:
I won't wait until I have the whole quilt done... who knows how long that could take, but I will post a picture after I get a couple more columns done so it gives a better image of what I'm talking about here.

I got busy and finished the second column so I could show what I was talking about in my previous post.  The columns each have 9 blocks.  There will be 8 columns.

This next one shows a much closer image to try to show the red fabric better.

My Ellie has to go to the hospital!!!!!! I was quilting this afternoon and the machine locked up and I can't turn the hand wheel at all. Safety warnings going off all over the place. I looked inside the bobbin area but I can't see anything but it's like the feed dogs and the whole needle area are off or bent and the needle is jamming against the throat plate. Not good at all. This was not part of the plan. This puts a serious dent in all my to-do's that I wanted to get done. I have other machines to use but none that are good for quilting. There go my finished UFO's.

I'm crying turtle tears for my Ellie. She's never been to the hospital so she's going to be afraid. I'm going to be afraid that she might be very expensive to fix and I hope it doesn't take forever. Or they can't fix her. Oh, no!

I've caught the sick sewing machine syndrome.

Debbie:

I finally have the cable quilting motif nearly done.  Having to draw the intersections and have it match up was challenging. It's the first time I've tried something like this. I'm pretty pleased with it.

Looking good Debbie.  Some little boy would really love this sailboat quilt.

How long have you had Ellie?  I am a firm believer in "annual check-ups" at the sewing machine docotr for Jennie Janome.

Oh, Dianne tell me it's not true. I only got my quattro back a couple weeks ago. She had to go on a long trip all alone on a ups truck. Shipping alone was $175. WOW. But she is home now and hopefully will soon forget the trauma she went thru. There is such a void when your machine is gone.

Well I sat down last night and figured out how I messed up on the dog qiult I was working on at the LQS Friday.  I sewed rows 5 & 6 to 1 & 2 in stead of 3 & 4.  I ripped it last night.  Got it all put together in the correct sequence this afternoon after whipping up a couple of fleece blankets for Project Linus that I pinned last night. Quick to take the dogs for their walk.  The top is all squared up and ready to start on the borders now

Tomorrow, I am hoping to get together with Joni for a run to A Scarlet Thread.  LQS I was at on Friday didn't have the colors that I have in my head for the borders on the wall hangings I am doing for DILs.  Joni and I haven't been back to A Scarlet Thread since they took over the store "in between" at the new location they moved to in Oct.  Can't wait to see how much more "stuff" they have.

Marge,

I was a the Scarlet  Thread about 2 weeks ago.  I had made a promise that I wouldn't visit any quilt shops on that trip, however when I saw a sign for the shop on the highway I asked Steve to take me.  The shop is great!  I wish I lived closer.  Have a quilty time. 8-)
