This morning it is snowing like crazy here in TN and I have to get ready to work for a few hours and then run some errands (need to take my grandma some clean clothes and such in the nursing home). BOY do I dread getting out in this mess! It is bad here! Snow on top of ice on top of snow ,.. maybe DH will escort me around?

Be careful out there Rhonda. I think the storm you have now is the one that is suppose to move in my way tonight. Even though I have what is considered a safe car I just don't get out there anymore unless I have to. Sounds like you have to.
Rhonda
You be careful. Your storm is supposed to be moving eastward later today. I guess we will see how things go. They are calling for snow this evening into tomorrow....YUCK>

I hear the state of TN is in a state of emergency. I think we are at about 6" ... my poor daughter may never get an education. LOL It has let up quite a bit but they are calling for snow and ice all day and night. I have decided that I am working until 11:30 (2 blocks from my house) and then going home. My grandma probably has enough clothes until tomorrow. I will call the nursing home and check on her cuz it is just too risky to try to get out.
The only sewing I have done so far at my new table is to finish the cancer patient pillowcases that I have to take with me on Friday. I have started cutting borders for my Name Above All Names panel that I bought at the quilt show. I would like to get that done before Friday so I can take some samples from my border fabric along to find some to go with the other two panels that I just bought online. I plan on making one of these wall hangings for both sons and DILs for Easter. I need to figure out what I want to use for the backs too. I am hoping that Celeste will walk over tonight and help me adjust the air lift on the table so I can tackle Big David's fleece throw again.

lI assume u r home wrmand safe Marge, tried reaching you this p.m.
I also suck at yard sales, never see anything worth anything or that I like. Just not my thing.
Stay warm and safe everyone, I back to the big easy chair in front of fire!!!!
I wish I could say that I worked on a quilt, but I did not. I just don't have any desire right now. I worked on one block over the weekend. MQ2 is still on the machine waiting to be finished and I just want to get in my jammies and have a cup of tea. I find that I am better off not trying to force the quilting so will just let is sit there till I am in the mood. You would think this cold weather would inspire quilt making, but it just makes me tired and sleepy. LOL
Joni:tried reaching you this p.m
Oh are you the "text" message on my phone. I never text so I couldn't figure it out.
I'm the same way Pat, If I 'm not in the mood to sew, I will end up frogging. lol

I can't seem to get into the swing of quilting either. I spent all morning picking out fabrics for a workshop I was going to take on Wednesday, only to find out a while ago that it has been canceled due to snow. Topeka has 8 inches of snow, and we at Perry have 10+ inches and still falling. so I plan to stay in and try to keep warm and dry. And maybe tomorrow I can sew. I called my LQS where I am supposed to work tomorrow and the owner told me to stay home tomorrow. Probably I will have no choice. The wind is supposed to whip up to 30mph tonight, and when that happens my road drifts terribly. It won't be surprising if we have 6' drifts. I have 4WD, but I don't believe I can get thru those kind of drifts. Sounds like we are all in the same boat, snow, ice, cold.

I thought of you while driving home, Marge. The radio announced 8 inches of snow in Georgia and semi-trailers jackknifed on the Interstate blocking all traffic. Then when I get a chance to check in here, everyone else is talking about snow, but you are just merrily going about your business.

In cleaning out my quilt room, I found a quilt kit for a scrappity do dah quilt. This is the one I did back in August.
I didn't want to mess with the diagonal cuts and squaring up the blocks. So I just simplified this one and did some squares and scrappy sashing.
Not as interesting but it is a simple scrap quilt that will work.
it turned out pretty cute

Lately I haven't had much desire to sew either. I visit the sewing room but end up reading instead.
