I made my 8 year old granddaughter a Sunbonnet Sue quilt .She picked out the colors.
Now my 7 year old one wants one .But she wants Sue to look a little different.
Are there more Sunbonnet patterns out there. Like on a motorcycle ,car, boat .
Anita
Here are a few diffrent ones
Sun Bonnet Sue If you do a Google search you may find some more!
Life is like a quilt...bits & pieces, joy & sorrow, stitched with love
Thanks Spudgrandma.
Good night
Anita, There are tons of Sunbonnet Sue's - one of the quilts that was in the KS show has a lot - take a look at it... Plus, if you go to embroidery library - click on the link for Sunbonnet Sue - I know that they are embroideries - but will give you some real good pictures for applique...
I am going to make a sunbonnet sue quilt this year for my Grand daughter...
I would love to see pics of the one you made.
Your welcome Anita. You could always take the basic SBS and make your own, the possibilities would be endless!
I agree with that -
there are so many books out on her - I have a couple up on my shelf - I wish I dared get on the step ladder right now - I have to get up there to look for a book for someone else too -
I am heading out to PC for the guild meeting... supposed to be an excellent speaker today - but when I get back I'll climb up that step ladder and find the books I have on her. thinking of that - Eleanor Burns has a fusible for her also...
I never used to like her - but see how I have changed - planning on mking one myself - did you see the simple one from the quilt show pics - if not I'll post again here - with the close up I took of the embroidery.
This quilt was very pretty up close - I like the choice of fabrics for the sashing and the spill over into the blocks... a lot more work then simple sashing...
Very cute Althea.
I made a SBS angel for a quilt that was given to Elenor Burns. A lady in CA took all the blocks and put them together and gave it to her. There were some cute ones but I never got a good picture of the finished quilt.
that would have been nice to see Spud. I am getting fonder of SBS... now that I have grand daughters...
