Getting ready for the Grandsons

I’m heading out in a little bit to meet my daughter and her family. I’m going to keep the two boys for the next week. My daughter got her job at the bank back (she quit 3 yrs ago when her youngest was born – he spent 2 mo in the NICU) I plan to stay here for a few days and then we will go to their house and go to the fair. We may go to my sons for a couple of days and go to their fair and carnival, we have not decided yet. It should be a fun week but I will not get to sew or play with my quilt frame.

I did play with my frame a little bit last evening. I completed one section and rolled the practice quilt. I’m going to cover it all with a quilt to hide the temptation to touch. I have my frame set up in my living room so there is no way to close it off but the boys are usually pretty good about things.

I guess I had better finish getting ready, I’m going to meet them in town and we will have lunch.

When I had my Gracie frame set up - way back when - I had a quilt set up on it that I was actually hand quilting...lol

Well, I was still working in the Af at the time so didn't have time like I do now - plus it was set up in the kitchen as I didn't have a sewing room... well...

The frame ended up being a great bed for the cats - and they had a blast on it - jumping up and down - underneath it - playing all around it... it was funny and not funny...

When my son moved out we moved it to the front room but I could never get my machine to work on it right so I quit trying that and I liked hand quilting by either doing it in my lap or using a round hoop - so my frame has been put up for a long time now.

I am glad that you are having a good time... that is what quilting is supposed to be about -

I hope you have a good time with the boys and that they don't bother your frame...  nope I know they won't and you will have a great time...

You mentioned you were an ATC in the AF, tough job.  I was raised in the AF and my husband and I did 6 yrs.  But, I think I like being a farmers wife.  LOL

Thea, I have a grace handquilting frame. I like it because it can be folded and put away with the quilt in progress. My cats like to lie on my machine frame as well. When I leave a project they like to climb in and lie on the quilt like a hammock
