As I am new to this and slowly getting started I seem to be having a difficult time with a blind hem stitch on my machine (Bernina240). I am sewing together the Egg Money quilt and need to do quite a bit of blind hem stitching. On my practice pieces the stitch looks good and then when I stitch on the quilt block it looks tight and the zigzag stitch is loose. I have adjusted the tension, zigzag length, stitch length, but can't seem to get it just right. I know I just need to keep at it and put on the patience hat. I am using Coats and Clark (I know it's not the best thread) so that could be my problem. It's on the top and Mettler is on the bottom. I don't live any place close to a shop that carries good thread. I have been reading about Essential thread and plan on ordering some. What weight is recommended? I Thanks for all your help. I love this site!
