Hi,

This is the 4th (and last) of the quillows I made for my great nieces and nephews. Heath is in to board games, dinosaurs and soccer. I embroidered the numbers on my embroidery machine (6 to a hooping) and then sewed them together.

Other parts of the game board are - ladders are entredeax zigzag stitched down the sides, snakes are Madeira carat flat ribbon plaited to make it a bit wider. The wider ribbons were zigzagged into place, with felt heads and tails and jiggle eyes, the top section has a checkers / chess board (fabric print) and embroideries of a soccer ball and a world cup logo.

The outside of the quillow has the dinosaur embroidery on one side and more of the dinosaur / palm print on the other.

Hi, Here is the third of my quillows - this time for Scott. Scott was 5 at the time and into go-carts and Formula 1. The layout is for Formula 1, go-carting etc. with pits, runoff areas, gravel traps and a starting grid. The embroideries are from the Brother sewing machine site.

Hi again,

Here is another quillow I made, this time for Sarah. Sarah's family had just purchased a piano and she was going to be having lessons. I thought I would give her something to practice with. The music is real - I downloaded it from the Internet then digitized it and stitched it out. (If I was to do it again I would probably print it instead).

For those of us who don't read music very well, the panels should read

1st 8 bars of Waltzing Matilda (Sarah's father is Australian)
1st 8 bars of Beethoven's 5th symphony
1st 4 bars of Bach's Minuet in G
1st 4 bars of Beethoven's 9th symphony - Ode to Joy

I know - I have been told several times - the piano keyboard down the center has more than the regulation number of keys. I make quilts not music.
