I found a picture of this quilt on the web and discovered it was a block of the month from a quilt shop in Australia. I ended up making the pattern using the photo as my guide. The quilt was for my daughter's sister-in-law.

Here is a quilt I made for our 4th son (50th birthday gift) in Oct. It was so fun to make because he is an outdoorsman and lives where the deer and bear are in his back yard. He is also a photographer of the outdoors. This was the first large picture to quilt. I usually do smaller pictures. Hope you enjoy it.

"I Washed It!" by Lilian Myers

After I brought my sewing machine back from servicing at a quilt shop, I
started this whole cloth in white during one of my QU classes. Everything
was going along fine until I noticed some grey streaking. Unfortunately,
the 'technician' put the wrong oil/lubricant into the machine which caused
the streaking. I took it back to the shop for them to fix their damage.
But, I was too far along to toss the quilt, so I improvised and changed to a
variegated thread. I initially titled the quilt, "I washed it!", from a
cartoon I saw in which a lion came upon his friends with a humidly
wild-looking mane. That was his explanation for the weird look.
The quilt is 19" square, on white with YLI silk and variegated thread, Hello
Kitty border, and crystals on her eyes that caught the light.

"A Hunter's Wonderland" by Linda

My son-in-law is an avid hunter and during deer season he never misses a chance to hunt. He hunts, not only for the sport but to supply meat for his family. Nothing goes to waste, not even the skin. It is cured and softened and the family then makes wonderfully soft slippers. I made this quilt for him as a Christmas present this coming Christmas. I guess you could call the quilt "A Hunter's Wonderland". It was quilted with a stipple pattern for the center and the outer border was done with an oak leaf and acorn pattern. Linda

"Frog in a Pond" by Marie

"Frog in a Pond" is a quilt that I made for my granddaughter Devon who loves loves loves frogs. I was inspired by a wall hanging at one of my local quilt shops and this is a twin sized version, with a twist. It was fun selecting all the colorful fabrics, making the lily pads in the "water" and the dragon flies sailing through the "sky". I used fake fur for their bodies and glow in the dark fabric for the frogs eyes. The back is made up of a mish-mash of all the fabrics in the front of the quilt and the quilting was done by the local quilt shop. It's been a long time in the making and I can't wait to see her reaction when I present it to her. Marie
