"Madi's Quilt" by Rhonda

This quilt was made as a surprise for my niece, Madison, on her 13th birthday.  Each block is made from some of Madi's dance costumes that she had accumulated over the years and the backing is the zebra striped fabric.  Since Madi loves shoes and purses, I chose those designs for her quilt.  The quilt was machine quilted by a very talented lady, Millie Kriel.  By the way, this was only my second quilt to make!

Your quilt is amazing.  I made a shoe quilt for one of my DD's for Christmas last year.  They are fun quilts.  Thanks for sharing.

Hard to believe it is only your second quilt.  And using her dance costumes was a fantastic idea, that obviously went well with the pattern.

You gals are all amazing!  I am working off and on...mostly off right now...on a "memories of route 66" quilt for me DH and it is about to drive me quite mad with all the appliqué!  It is my first attempt at a large project that has appliqué in each block.  any words of wisdom?
