"Feed Sack Blocks" by Nancy Jenning's Grandmother

I received these blocks from my sister.  My grandmother hand pieced them.  I don't know when she pieced them but she passed away in the 1930's.  I believe they are feed sack fabric.  I am trying to find out what the pattern is & can't find it anywhere.  I have 52 blocks that will make 10" blocks.  The picture below is 4 blocks
& the other one is a single block.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Nancy Jennings

They are beautiful! I'm guessing that the block is a veriartion of double wedding ring and New York beauty. For some reason it makes me think  of the patterns printed in newspapers around that time.If I had to find the pattern, I think the first place I'd look would be old Kansas City Star patterns.

Not sure this picture will post but I'm going to give it a try anyway.

Your quilt could be a variation of Grandma's engagement ring:

Sorry that picture did not work.

I love the 1930s fabric and quilts and your blocks are beautiful, what a treasure.

the feed sack fabrics were sure pretty.  I had to go on the internet to look it up.  Very nice design to the quilt too, it will be such a treasured heirloom when it is complete.  Hope you find someone with answers to your questions.

It looks like a variation of the Dresden Plate pattern to me, though I think Dresden Plate has an appliqued center rather then the quarter sub-patches that this pattern uses.

What a special gift being that your Grandmother pieced these blocks.  Keep us updated on what you decide to make with them.

I wish I knew what happened to all the blocks and quilts my grandmother pieced. You are lucky!
