Beautiful Mary. I love your choice of yellow to offset the black and grey. Very effective. Thanks for sharing.
Very pretty Mary. Love the fabric choices.
I love the fabrics. From the view in the window, it appears you may not be too far from Alaska, at least in the Pacific Northwest?
Beautiful quilt. Nice work Mary.
While I enjoyed visiting Alaska I certainly don't live there. My youngest brother's sister-in-law however lives in Sarah Palin's town of Wassillia? I actually live just south of the border between Pennsylvania and Maryland. The tree that you can see in the window started out as a small blue spruce in a bucket. My husband purchased it for five dollars at a yard sale. It is probably 20 feet high now.
I always make it a point to visit any quilt shop I can find on our travels. That quilt was made from blocks of preprinted fabric with the animals native to Alaska. I added the sashings etc. The black animals in the border are actually from a Tupperware children's stencil. I used a black fabric laudry marker to make them. Everything is quilted in the ditch to make it look like applique.
Mary - You did a beautiful job on this quilt. I just love it.
Very nice. I especially like your borders.
