"Max" and "Kenny" by Barb

Thread painting "Max", my friend's dog, was such a challange. But, thought it came out just fine. Max was a rescue and has brought such joy into their lives.

"Kenny" the cat belongs to our son. He has an attitude in real life and think I captured it in this wall hanging.

Wow!!!!  Max looks like he could bark anytime, and Kenny the cat looks so lifelike, and he looks like he could jump on that pillow.  Such a wonderful job you did on those.  How in the world did you capture them so lifelike??

Barb, your threadpainting is awesome!  They look so lifelike.  Max's eyes look like they are alive.

Did you work off of photos or just from your own mind/memory?

Thanks soooo much for all the nice comments.  For those that asked, I print out the pictures onto muslin; color or black and white.  This gives me lines to following.  Back the muslin with water sol. facing, put in a hoop, feed dogs down and start sewing. Very time consuming, what with changing threads constantly.  But well worth the time spent.
