Butterfly original quilt. Started three years ago, finished Jan 1, 2010. A gift for my daughter Ashar, who loves butterflies, age 30. I sewed this from a hand drawn design on typing paper, taped the paper together with the design, cut out each block and sewed them via machine using Fairy Frost fabric by Michael Miller. All is by machine and applique is only the butterfly black body, all the rest was cut and pieced together. I quilted it on my own long arm today and knife edged the sides after hand sewing the knife edge shut, I then went over the handed sewn edge with my machine using light green thread on the top and deep purple on the bottom to match the quilt. Ashar gets the quilt tomorrow morning. Hope she likes it.
