Hello everyone! I have been a member of QCA for going on two years and have been lurking around the forums for a few weeks now. I finally decided it was time to introduce myself and tell you all a little about me. First off, I would like to say thanks to Diane Morgan for inspiring me to jump in and create a blog. Second, thanks to all you wonderful ladies on here who have been entertaining and educating me over the last few weeks. I already feel like I know some of you, and I talk about you to my DH all the time.

So here goes. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 9 years this September (he is a terrible enabler for my craft hobbies). We have 2 crazy kitties, Buddy is 9 and Festus 4. That's Festus in the title bar at the top of the screen. And this is Buddy:

I don't have any children, so the kitties are my babies. ;) I spoil them rotten every chance I get.

I live in northeast Alabama, and have lived here my whole life. I consider myself very fortunate to have grown up in a quilting family. All my grandmothers made quilts, and most of my aunts know how to quilt. My father's mom taught me how to piece by hand when I was 10 or 12, and my mother's mom taught me to quilt by hand shortly afterwards. She also bought me my first sewing machine when I was 15. I completed my first quilt, a nine-patch, a year later. Unfortunately, I am the only granddaughter in my family that quilts or does any sort of crafts.

I also knit, crochet, cross-stitch, bead, scrapbook, and anything else I can get my hands on. Sometimes I think I have Crafter's ADHD as I love to start projects, but have a hard time finishing them. I also tend to go through spells of just doing one kind of craft for months at a time until I get tired of it, then I rotate to something else for awhile. Recently it was knitting for 2 years, but now I'm on a quilting kick.

Now for the boring bits, my job. I work night shift as a 911 dispatcher in the county where I live. I sit in a little room full of computers in the basement of the sheriff's office and answer phones and talk on the radio for 12 hours with only me and my DH, who has been my co-worker for 10 years. The only explaination I have for how that has worked out for us is that we don't know any different. We have always worked together.

Since I work nights, I do most of my quilting and sewing at night as well, and most of my time online is also at night. I don't really have any pictures of my current projects to show you right now. I promise to have some as soon as I find the USB cable for my camera. In the mean time I have this:

A pair of socks I knit last year. This picture was taken at work. That's DH in the background. And this:

A UFO block my DH and I were playing around with last year.

And here is another picture of Festus:

He is a horrible productivity buster. He thinks I am suppose to hold him all the time so he can sleep. That's all for now. I will post more pics later.
