Block #245, Spinning Wheels by Leslee Price

You're not the only one who gets inspired by an event like last week's 100 Blocks Blog Tour. The editors and artists at Quiltmaker get pretty revved up, too! One evening last week I took a break from reading blog comments and sewed up this little guy from Block #245, Spinning Wheels by Leslee Price, a designer at Painted Pony ‘n Quilts in La Porte, Texas.

I followed the block pattern instructions, except that when I cut apart the Unit 1′s and Unit 2′s, I combined them with Units from other fabric combinations I had done. This gave me a much more scrappy look. It's kind of frenetic but I was just playing and having fun, feeling totally inspired by all the blog hop activity.

You'll see that my circles are a little wonky because I was in a hurry and didn't take much care to get them perfectly placed. But the wonkiness goes with the splashy primary colors, so I think it's okay. What's shown above is actually one-and-a-half blocks by one-and-a-half blocks.

Now I'm heading over to our community site at Quilters Club of America to post this into the Quiltmaker Show & Tell Gallery. We always welcome your QM quilts in this marvelous show & tell, too. Registration at QCA is fast and free. For instructions on how to post your photos, please see this blog entry. We'd love to have you join our community there!

We're also searching for projects you have completed from any of the blocks in Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks Volume 1, Volume 2 or Volume 3. We encourage you to post your projects for all to see. You never know what we have up our sleeve!
