Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful for many things. One of those is my quilting friends. Last week-end, three of us drove to Marquette, Michigan, to see the Marquette County Quilters' Association Autumn Comforts 2012 Quilt Show. We stayed with another quilt friend from the guild, who is also a member and president of our Michigan Quilt Network. The weather was unseasonably warm and the quilts we enjoyed were well worth the long ride to see them.
The guild presented several demos, along with a bed turning.
Check out some of the lovely children's prints I picked up from the vendors. I'm trying to collect fabrics to use for boy quilts, now that I have a grandson.
In the evening, we enjoyed a musical trunk show, Sister's Choice, put on by our own Michigan Quilt Network group. Delphine Ren-Miller presented many of her quilts, while friend and singer/song-writer, Ann Rowland, played her acoustic guitar and sang songs that integrated her love of quilting into the lyrics.
After Sunday morning breakfast, we headed home. Here I am with Nona, Sue and our hostess, Alice. Later, I'll post pics of my favorite quilts.
