It just went off to the printer today, so you won't see it on newsstands or in your mailbox until mid to late May, but we can't wait to show you this gorgeous cover, with quilt by Ann Weber of the Gingham Girls! It's the July/August issue of McCall's Quilting, and there is so much good stuff inside you won't believe it. It's for the Birds, the winning quilt from the Quilt Design Star™ 2010 contest, is fully patterned so you can make your own version, and we've got a wrap-up article about all the finalists and their experiences in the contest. There's an article by Virginia Robertson on using the big, bold fabric prints available now to make cool tote bags. We've got mini wool mats by Kathy Brown, to use as mug rugs or tealight mats. Plus a fun super-size flannel throw made with Robert Kaufman's Grinch fabrics (start that Christmas quilt early!). Not to mention…a total of 18 complete patterns and 3 quilts with special how-to photographs. We're proud of this one (and just a little bit tired). I think I'll go celebrate by watching all the pre-Royal-Wedding TV coverage. Ta ta!
