Whether you are a beginning quilter or an expert in appliqué, Joan's 3-D Appli-bond© technique will allow you to add exciting realistic three-dimensional appliqué to your quilts. Imagine creating beautiful 3-D designs, easily, that can be thrown in the washer and dryer. No turning under of edges - no fuss, no muss, it's a sure thing! And it's fun too, even if you never step outside your comfort zone and just stay with the patterns Joan has already designed, you'll have no shortage of projects to add to your must-do list. Joan's technique is called Appli-Bond© and it is the fusing of two pieces of fabric together to allow you to create dimension without turning any edges. All you do is bond the fabric, trace the template, cut the shape and apply the bonded pieces to the background with an embroidery stitch. It's really that simple!

Package of 3 Needles Appli-bond needles are a great asset to this technique. Each needle has 3 bayonette cutting edges and pierces the bonded fabric with ease.They are also helpful when doing the button-hole stitch on fusible applique.

Accurate Die-Cut Templates are available for many of the flower/leaf designs, as you know it's easier to trace around the inside of a template than around the outside edge.
