Question of the Week....

What's the deal with these Quilting Indulgences Boxes?

Aha! We're glad you asked.

Once a month we offer a limited amount of surprise mystery type boxes jammed full of patterns, maybe some books, dvd's, you never know what we'll stick in there. Past boxes have included lotions and candles. Maybe a couple of scraps of farics, some charm siggy squares, samples of interfacing... You just never know!

But one thing remains constant, they are always well worth the $30.00 you'll pay, and you'll never pay shipping (to the US) on these boxes. A surprise every month, usually the 2nd week of the month.

Keep an eye on this newsletter for dates and times. We'll also announce it on our Facebook page, our blog and our home page!

Lots of fun!

Kaye's lots and lots of seminars and teacher certification classes scheduled in Arizona. Check out her schedule HERE

Show 'N Tell....

My father turns 80 in April 2012 and this is his birthday gift.

It's made for an extra high queen size bed. I didn't want to have a bed shirt so I made a bedspread. My oldest son has a bed just like his so I used his for measurements. (My father lives 5 hours away).

It looks really good on my son's bed. I’m glad I tried it on his bed because he is the next one in line to make one for. I'll probably put his two girls on, I don’t know yet....Nancy

Question of the Week....

Regarding the View & Do Shapes and the Starmaker Master Templates, what's the difference?

Kaye's copyrighted Starmaker Master Templates are made from a thick acrylic so they are suitable for rotary cutting. With the 3 templates you can cut over 450 shapes that would take probably dozens if not hundreds of other rulers to cut. They are that versatile!

The View & Do Shapes are all about the Fussy-Cutting. All 7 View & Do Shapes come in 4 sizes: 2", 4", 6", and 8" and enable you to see what you're cutting and what your shape will look like in your quilt before you waste fabric on bad cuts. The View & Do Shapes are made from a hard plastic, so they are also suitable for rotary cutting. They come in the following shapes:

  • Hexagons
  • Octagons
  • Squares
  • Circles
  • Pentagons
  • Diamonds
  • Hearts

New and Totally Spring-y for Spring! In Our Shop and On Sale....

All 3 of these patterns are new, and ON SALE!

They are from Nestlings by Robin and we think they make an awesome addition to our shop. Plus, they're all 3 going to make an awesome addition to my home!

Let's start with the first one, to the left, Home of the Brave. Totally LOVE it! But I see it made from rip stop nylon and used outside for a seasonal flag, no?

The second one to the right is perhaps my favorite, it's called Benign Fusion.

How spring-y can you get? I'm going to make a quilt with this one, with the flower(s) in the middle and the borders as they are, but just, well, bigger! I'm so ready for spring.....

Next up and hiding over there to the right is our Spring Fling Candle Mat pattern. How cute!!

Candle mats are a perfect, quick and easy way to dress up a table, and up here in the sun and warmth starved North, flowers are looking pretty darn good right now, no matter where they are!

Not so much with the candles? Try a vase with a single flower, the possibilities are really endless....

Click on the links to order the patterns! Did I mention they're on sale.....

Question of the Week....

Do You Ship Internationally?

Well of course we do, rather than the standard shipping charges, you'll be charged actual shipping. And most times your order will be shipped 1st Class International (unless it's over 4 lbs, in which case it has to go International Priority).

On our Check it out Page!

Miss Pyris Iris!

Gorgeous! Celebrating one of the prettiest flowers out there, the Iris. This is from Among Friends and uses the FUSIQUE (easy reversible, fusible applique) method.

And, what's even better than all that, is you get 2 projects from the same piece of black fabric. Check it out. It's a silhouette!

Gotta Have It!

Woodland Moose from The Wooded Bear.

Great for your cabin or rustic decor. And of course, you could make it in any color combo.

Yes, you guessed it, this is going in my queue also. Mine will be in greens, blues and maybe a touch of cranberry red.

Show 'N Tell....

Here is a picture of my rendition of the Pinwheel Hearts Quilt. Still finishing hand sewing the binding to the back. I tried a new method with my binding since I have a heck of a time with the mitered corners turning out just right. I curved the corners, following the curves in the quilt. Much easier to get the binding to work on a curve then on a mitered point.....Jen

Call for entries....

Submit your creations to us. We'll put them on our Show 'N Tell page and in the newsletter! Be sure to send a picture as well as the story behind your quilt, wallhanging,tablerunner.....

New Contest - Name That Quilt!

Isn't this cool!

Well, it needs a name. Help us with a name for this cutie and the pattern can be yours!

We'll run this until the end of February

A few guidelines.......

  • Please don't base your suggestions on the color, what if it were done in pinks and black?

  • We're going for fun and funky, not traditional

  • Kaye's original name was "From Kaye to Kayla and Back Again" as Kaye picked out the purples and Kayla picked out the pinks, but we really don't want to use personal names.

So.... Ready, Set, GO! Email me your suggestions.
